Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 August 2026
The short version: our apps do not collect your data. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no servers to send anything to.
Who this covers
This policy is published by Barnisan ("we", "us"), an independent software studio in the United States. It applies to the following apps:
- YapOff, a pass-and-play party word game for iPhone.
- Governor: Free Republic, a real-time naval strategy game for iPhone and iPad.
If we publish further apps, this policy will be updated to list them explicitly.
Information we collect
We do not collect any personal data. Neither app has any network functionality whatsoever: they cannot send information anywhere, because they never make a network request.
Specifically, both apps contain:
- No user accounts or sign-in of any kind
- No analytics or crash-reporting services
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers
- No tracking, and no App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing to track
- No third-party SDKs or frameworks
What the apps keep on your device
YapOff keeps nothing. Player names typed in during setup exist only in the device's memory for the duration of a game, and are gone when you close the app.
Governor: Free Republic saves your game and your settings in the app's own storage on your device, so you can put it down and pick it up again.
If you have iCloud Backup or encrypted computer backups switched on, app storage is included in those backups. That is Apple's backup of your own device, not a transfer to us. The apps never transmit any of it, and we never receive it.
Permissions
The apps request no permissions. They do not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or health data.
Children
Because the apps collect no data from anyone, they collect no data from children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from any user, of any age.
Third parties
We do not share, sell, or transfer information to third parties, because we do not hold any information to share. Note that if you download an app from the App Store, your relationship with Apple is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not this one.
Changes to this policy
If our apps ever begin collecting data, we will update this page before that change ships, and revise the "last updated" date above.
